Beef Stew

I love to make a big meal on Sundays. We watch football and have some snacks while dinner is in the oven or crockpot making the entire house smell good all day. Even though we are in the middle of a mini heat wave this weekend I was craving beef stew.

It is a very quick and simple recipe.
The ingredients include:
Stew meat
Potatoes
Baby carrots
Corn
Peas
Onion
Garlic
Heinz Beef Gravy
I also include salt, pepper, and parsley to taste.

First I brown the meat in a frying pan with the onion and garlic. I like to cook the meat until it is browned on all sides before I add it to the crockpot.

I add the entire jar of gravy and about half the jar of water to the meat. Then I season the stew with salt, pepper, and parsley and add the potatoes and carrots.

Set the crockpot to medium or high and cook until the potatoes and carrots are tender but not mush. Add the peas and corn and set the crockpot to keep warm or low.

I like rice with stew and many other things, I even have a special rice pot that is used for nothing else.

After the rice cooks...its time to eat!! Enjoy.
