Nana's Best Sugar Cookie Recipe

Making sugar cookies with my Nana is something we do every year. She has the best recipe and by using confectioners sugar to roll them out makes them even sweeter.

First, you mix the following ingredients together:
    1 cup margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 cup sour cream
    2 cups sugar
    2 beaten eggs

Then, in a separate bowl, sift together:
    5 1/2 cups flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt

After the dry ingredients are mixed together add them to the cream mix. Chill the dough for 24 hours before making the cut-outs.

We find that using confectioners powdered sugar instead of flour to roll the dough keeps the cookies moist and makes them much sweeter.

Bake the cookies at 350 for 10 minutes.

We like to use food coloring and vanilla cake frosting to finish them off.  Sometimes we get creative with the decorating but we were short on time this year so just a quick frosting with sprinkles.

Thanks for visiting Krafty Cards etc. I would love for you to follow...

Have a great day!
