Christmas Traditions

I love the Christmas Season....I love the music, the lights, the smells and most of all the memories. Some of my favorite childhood memories involve my family's Christmas traditions. One of those was decorating the tree and the house with my dad, which was an all day event. We would listen to Christmas carols and sing along while we created our holiday home.

As you can see, I would dress myself in tinsel and dance around while my dad did most of the work. But I still had fun and the memories will last a lifetime.

I don't wear the tinsel anymore but I still love decorating our home for the holidays. I have a 19 year old daughter named Medina and we spend the day together watching Elf and decorating the house.

Our tree's ornaments have been collected over the years. Some were gifts to me when I was a child and hung on the trees I decorated with my dad and others were gifts to my daughter when she was younger. About half our ornaments are homemade, some from the 1970s. I love our tree and the new traditions we have created.

Decorating is just one of the many holiday traditions we had in my family. I think the one I miss the most is going to my cousins house for Christmas eve dinner. Food, family and fun, what could be better.
